KADENA AIR BASE – On Nov. 18, the Kadena AB and Camp Foster Exchanges celebrated the grand opening of Janz Medical Supply, a durable medical equipment store, bringing more convenience to the Okinawa military community.

Shoppers can purchase name-brand medical equipment such as CPAP supplies, breast pumps, nebulizers, ventilators, wheelchairs, walkers, orthopedic supplies and more. Janz Medical Supply also rents medical equipment for military shoppers who temporarily need the equipment.

“Janz Medical Supply store will provide immediate benefits for our service members, their families and the retired military community,” AAFES Pacific Region Commander Lt. Col. Michael Kovalchek said. “Having a medical supply store at both Kadena AB and Camp Foster is just another added convenience for them.”

Janz Medical Supply is a U.S. service-disabled veteran owned business located in Columbus, Ohio. Janz Corporation was founded in 1999 and opened its doors to their first store in 2019. Since then, DME stores have grown in number and are located on more than 25 military bases worldwide.

Janz works with most insurance companies on behalf of service-members and veterans, including TRICARE. Credit cards, cash and the MILITARY STAR® card are accepted for non-insurance items.

The new stores are located within 10 miles of each other and having two DME stores will be beneficial to many families housed on each installation.

“This will allow us to fully service everyone’s needs on the island by being conveniently located depending on their housing location,” Okinawa Area Services Manager Naoko Teruya said. “Also, it’s beneficial to open a DME store on Camp Foster because of the naval hospital, where an average of 78 babies are born each month.”

Janz Medical Supply store on Kadena is located in the concessions area of the Exchange Main Store and is open Monday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Janz Medical Supply store on Camp Foster is located in the Four Seasons building next to the Main Store and is open Monday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
