Giles Duke is TELL’s new Executive Director effective July 1, 2021. Originally from the UK, and schooled in Japan and England, Giles first came to Japan when he was six years old, and has spent most of his adult life working in Japanese companies and possesses native-level fluency in the language. Spending the last 25 years working in the major labels of the music industry - in business strategy, legal affairs, merchandising, label operations, and for a total of six years (three as VP) in Human Resources - one of his priorities was ensuring the physical and mental well-being of more than 650 employees, particularly during the ‘new normal’ period of dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Giles also has extensive experience in direct marketing and real estate. His hobbies include music, gardening, and reading a wide variety of English and Japanese-language novels. Says Giles: “I am immensely excited to be joining TELL to contribute to the wellbeing of the various communities that have hugely benefited from this wonderful resource for over 40 years. I would also like to thank Vickie Skorji for her tremendous efforts in overseeing TELL over the past four years."
