A big juicy steak for a reasonable price is hard to beat. It’s also probably what keeps customers coming back to a Jumbo Steak Han’s restaurant in Chatan.

Jumbo Steak Han’s, located near American Village, offers a variety of steaks in an American-style atmosphere. The beef they serve here is from the U.S. and Australia; of course, they also serve famous Okinawan Ishigaki beef.

As matter of fact, they have more than 20 different steak dishes with varying prices, depending on the size, cut and brand of beef. So every steak lover can find something they like – or try something different. The volume of meat is what makes this restaurant so popular with locals and Americans alike, according to word of mouth. Some of the popular steaks here are said to be the 16-ounce T-bone steak for 2,950 yen ($24.67), 16-ounce rib eye steak for 3,550 yen and the 11-ounce U.S. sirloin steak for 3,400 yen.

And if you want to splurge on one of Japan’s best local brands of beef you can try the 11-ounce Ishigaki sirloin steak for 10,650 yen ($89). For an extra 150 yen, all steaks come with a side of soup, salad and your choice of rice or bread.

For meat lovers who can’t be satisfied by a mere 11- or 16-ounce steak, Han’s is currently offering 1-kilogram (35-ounce) sirloin steak for 6,400 yen. So, make sure you come with your appetite in tow to this steakhouse.

Jumbo Steak Han’s also offers special lunch sets which include your choice of a steak, grilled chicken or hamburger steak with a buffet of rice, soup and salad for 1,300 yen.

Seafood lovers will also find reason to celebrate Han’s. Their steak and lobster combo is also said to be a hit with customers. This Grilled half lobster and tenderloin steak combo goes for 4,100 yen. And it’s not the only lobster combo plate on the menu.

Other menu items include Okinawa’s famed Agu pork – as a steak, of course; fish as well a shrimp. All-you-can-drink soft drinks are available for just 200 yen. There’s also variety of adult beverages including red, white and sparkling wines, beers and cocktails.

So this can also serve has useful family restaurant when the whole clan is out for a day at American Village.

The restaurant even boasts that its country-style wooden décor is the handy work of staff members for that extra downhome atmosphere. English-language menus are available and credit cards are accepted.

The best part is that Jumbo Steak Han’s is a franchise with eight locations on Okinawa and Ishigaki islands. The most popular location for military community in Okinawa is the Island Depot location, which is located west of the Ferris wheel at American Village.
