U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Kevin Cervantes Manriques vaults over an obstacle as a part of the endurance course during a squad competition at Camp Schwab, Okinawa, Japan, Aug. 30, 2024. Squad competitions test Marines’ infantry skills while under physical duress and build esprit de corps among small units through friendly rivalries. Cervantes Manriquez, a native of California, is a fireteam leader with 4th Marine Regiment, 3d Marine Division and is currently forward deployed in the Indo-Pacific as part of the Unit Deployment Program.
