Warner. Bros. Studio is bringing its Studio Tour Tokyo – The Making of Harry Potter to the site of the former Toshimaen theme park in northern Tokyo’s Nerima-ku. The doors are slated to open on June 16 and tickets for the much-anticipated opening go on sale March 22.
This is not only Warner Bros. first Studio Tour to pen in Asia, but it is also the largest indoor Harry Potter attraction in the world, according to the company’s press release.
Potterheads can look forward to many activities inside the attraction including walks through Hogwarts Great Hall, Diagon Alley and the Forbidden Forest. Witness the exquisite costumes and magical creatures as well as the magical secrets of filmmaking. Visitors will also get a taste of student life at Hogwarts with broomstick rides, refreshing butterbeer, appearances in the hall’s moving portraits and a seat for an exciting game of Quidditch.
One the biggest features of the studio tour is the Hogwarts Express train on the set of Platform 9 ¾. Originally known as “The Dumbleton Hall,” this British steam locomotive was built in 1929 and was in commission for more than 35 years. The authentic train was refurbished and is going to have another life to guide fans on their journey to Hogwarts.
According to the Warner Bros. media release, the tour also features The Great Wizarding Express, a train carriage from the franchise spinoff prequel “Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore.”
And if that isn’t enough to draw excitement, Studio Tour Tokyo – The Making of Harry Potter is home to the largest Harry Potter shop in the world, officials announced. According to the report, visitors can shop 14 themed sections decorated with over 7,000 bespoke and specially sourced props.
The theme will continue into the restaurants and cafes serving fish and chips, roast beef, English breakfast and afternoon tea, so make sure to bring an appetite.
Harry Potter continues to take the world by storm, and the franchise is extremely popular in Japan. Get your tickets soon if you’re a fan and really want to enjoy a special attraction you’ll only find in Japan!
