The rain season is finally over in many parts of mainland Japan. Officials with the Japanese Meteorological Agency declared the Kanto, Yamanashi, Nagano, Hokuriku and southern Tohoku regions to be out of the wet tsuyu climate on July 18. It is one day earlier than the yearly average in Kanto, five days earlier in Hokuriku and six days earlier in Tohoku, according to the agency.

Over the next week, the regions will experience hot, muggy weather as the high-pressure system sweeps across the mainland, officials added.

The end of rain marks the start of the summer heat as Japan prepares for hanabi fireworks and festival season. So, stay hydrated and enjoy the upcoming summer activities!
