Spring is a busy season for festivals on the island. The competition is going to heat up even more this year with USAG Okinawa Spring Festival set to take place on Torii Beach in Yomitan Town on April 20.

Since many events will be taking place across the island on that day, some festivalgoers may have a hard time picking one. Torii Beach’s sandy shore, festival lineup with live music from the III MEF Brass Band, entertainment, great food and other activities will be hard to resist.

Some of the free activities during the USAG Okinawa Spring Festival include a selfie booth, beach equipment rentals, e-bike tours, and lawn games like cornhole and ring toss. Festivalgoers will also be able to make their own shell and sand memento to take home with Coral Creations.

You don’t want to miss the carnival games, bounce houses, crafts and food trucks either. With so much fun on the way, Torii Beach is sure to be a blast for you, your family and friends!

Just before the festival kicks off on April 20, Torii Beach will mark Earth Day (April 22) early with a clean-up from 10 a.m. to noon.

The beach is the place to be this spring, so make sure to head on over to Torii for these two fun events!

USAG Okinawa Spring Festival

Date: April 20 (Saturday)

Time: noon – 6 p.m.

Venue: Torii Beach (Torii Station)

*Free programs include entertainment, beach equipment, craft activities lawn games selfie booth, ocean safety info, kayaking and SUP experience, and E-bike tours. Paid programs include food trucks, farmers market, craft merchandise, flea market (open to all for purchase, SOFA only for selling), carnival games, and bounce houses.

*This event is open to SOFA ID card holders, and U.S. and Japanese citizens.

Torii Beach Clean-up

Time: 10 a.m. – noon (meet at Torii Beach Parking Lot at 9:45 a.m. )

*Register by COB Wednesday, April 17.

*Open to SOFA ID card holders and local nationals with DoD ID.
