In the midst of this scorching summer season, the large sunflowers can help make us feel refreshed and energized. You can enjoy the bright golden flowers on most of mainland of Japan during the season. If you are in or around Yokosuka Naval Base, head to Soleil Hill, a beautiful European-style park, for a wonderful summer sight of over 30,000 sunflowers!

Today's Japanese phrase:

“Ichimen no himawari desu!” 一面の向日葵です! = It's filled with sunflowers!

("himawari" 向日葵 = sunflower(s), "ichimen no.. " 一面の・・ = filled with .. / the carpet of .., ".. desu." ・・です = .. is .. )

The peak flower-viewing season of the sunflowers lasts only a few weeks through late July. So, visit the park to check the shining gold flowers before they are gone!
