In Japan, we celebrate Children's Day (May 5) by hanging up carp streamers called "Koinobori" to wish for the health and happiness of our children.

According to an Chinese ancient legend, carp become dragons after climbing upstream against the rapid current. The Japanese tradition uses the carp streamers as a symbol of the legend. You may see banners hanging outside many homes during this time to celebrate the family’s youngest members.
