OKINAWA

Also known as Higan (literally "other shore"), March 21 marks Spring Equinox and a holiday in Japan. While relatively nice, balmy weather continues around the holiday, some of Japanese visit their family tomb to offer prayers for deceased family members and friends, and others go to flower or beach attractions to enjoy the pleasant season outdoors. The calm sea and nice gentle sea breeze let you enjoy walking or fishing on the beach.

Today's Japanese phrase:

“Namiga odayaka desu” 波が穏やかです = The waves are gentle!

“nami" 波 = wave, "odayaka" 穏やか= gentle, ".. ga.. desu" ..が..です = .. is ..

You can also say:

"Kazega odayaka desu" 風が穏やかです = The breeze is mild.

"Hizashiga odayaka desu" 日差しが穏やかです = The sunshine is warm.

Sakura has just started blooming in Japan. Let's go out and enjoy Japan’s spring weather, as it won't last long!
