KADENA, Japan (Oct. 25, 2021) DEFY volunteers Hospitalman Viviana Landeros, assigned to U.S. Naval Hospital Okinawa, and Master-at-Arms 3rd Class Alfredo Jimenez, assigned to Commander, Fleet Activities Okinawa, run a drug abuse awareness table for Red Ribbon Week at the Kadena Army & Air Force Exchange on Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan Oct. 25, 2021. DEFY is a military youth-oriented program that raises drug abuse awareness and encourages children to live drug-free lives. Red Ribbon Week is a drug abuse prevention campaign that runs from Oct. 23-31 and honors the memory of Drug Enforcement Agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena who was tortured and killed in 1985.
