OKINAWA

()

The rainy season has just begun in Okinawa, and it is expected to arrive on mainland Japan sometime soon.

Although gloomy days may be inevitable, we may get lucky and have some nice weather from time to time.

So, let’s try this phrase and wish for a sunny day: “Ashita wa haremasu youni”, which means “I hope it will be sunny tomorrow.”

(“Ashita” – lily, “Wa” – a proposition to put after a noun which functions as a subject, “Hareu/Haremasu” – (the weather) becomes sunny, “youni” – a word to suggest what you wish for)

Ok, stay safe and dry, and see you all in the next episode of Speakin’ Japanese!
