During a recent trip to Okinawa, I accidently discovered an awesome pancake shop in Chatan called Harbor while on a search for some sweet souvenirs from Timeless Chocolate.

The menu at Harbor consists of primarily cake fluffy pancakes that can pass off as desserts and a standard hearty breakfast set. The menu is partially in English, but ordering is easy thanks to the simple menu.

The dining area is very spacious, so my fiancé and I dined in. I ordered a Detox Acai smoothie for 950 yen (about $6.32) and two chocolate sauce pancakes for 1,450 yen. I also accidentally ordered crème brulee for 1,100 yen thinking it was the custard dessert but ended up with more pancakes. Still worth it.

My fiancé had the basic pancakes as she was conscious of her calorie intake (my side had more flavor). The total cost for our meal together was around $33.

Though the acai smoothie wasn’t as good as my favorite smoothie from Morning Bowls, it was flavorful and creamy.

The pancakes came with a small scoop of ice cream to compliment the flavor. The pancakes were fluffy and had the same melt-in-your-mouth quality as the famous Rikuro Cheesecakes from Osaka.

The chocolate sauce pancakes tasted like freshly melted chocolate chips and my surprise crème brulee pancakes were like breaking into a fresh ramekin of custard.

Harbor is in a great location near the beach, so you can enjoy a relaxed late breakfast before hitting the waves. Just plan ahead because the shop doesn’t open until 10 a.m. and parking in the area is very limited.
