TELL needs your help.
We need your help on a specific issue.
The COVID-19 pandemic has created unprecedented health and economic challenges, especially for the most vulnerable, which has already seen 7,133 people die by suicide this year, 528 more than last year.
TELL’s Lifeline and Outreach services support people dealing with suicidal thoughts, relationship breakups, domestic abuse, rape and sexual violence, workplace issues, bullying, loneliness, gender issues, just to name a few. Having someone to talk to when you are alone or feeling vulnerable can make all the difference in making it through the night.
Retaining our NPO license is essential to us continuing that work.
In order to retain that license each year, the government requires us to have at least 200 people donate a minimum of ¥3,000. We cannot provide any enticement or incentive, nor can that donation be accompanied by an exchange for goods and services. That means that the financial support we receive from our annual fundraising events does not count towards achieving the minimum 200 donations, even though that highly appreciated support is essential in funding our ongoing work.
Unsung or everyday heroes are found all over the world, and we have seen many of them in action over the past year. Through their acts of kindness, courage, and love, they represent the best of who we can be and demonstrate how positive actions can and do make a difference.
We would like to thank the heroes who stepped up last month and answered our plea for support. Through your donation, you can ensure we retain our NPO status and can help transform someone’s life.
