Sumo Showdown (Kinser Surfside)
With the May Grand Sumo Tournament underway, sumo wrestling often headlines TV news. Now, a sumo tournament is coming to Okinawa, albeit with a with a twist.
On Wednesday, May 28, Sumo Showdown will take place at Surfside on Camp Kinser. A total of 16 competitors will put on sumo suits and battle it out on the dohyo (circular ring).
According to MCCS, the 16 spots for this competition have been taken, but you can put your name on a waiting list.
Tickets for spectators are still available, so why not root for the wrestlers from ringside?
Plus, you can enjoy a specially prepared buffet-style menu and can meet and interact with Hiradoumi, a professional sumo wrestler who competes in Makuuchi, the top sumo division.

Tickets (for spectators): $35 for ages 12 and above, $17.50 for ages 5 and 11, free for 4 years old and under.
