OKINAWA

(Noroi no Shinhoku)

This summer has been brutally hot, but how about some chills to stay cool?

On Saturday, July 13, the haunted house Noroi no Shinshoku opens on the third floor of AEON Mall Rycom Okinawa.

This attraction brings the world of an Okinawan horror TV show to life in a realistic way. The title means “erosion by curse” in Japanese. Last year, this popular haunted house drew 25,000 visitors, according to the organizer.

If you tried this attraction last year, you may still remember walking by tombstones tainted with blood or going through a tatami room covered with smudges. This year, this haunted house is expected to bring even more scares and thrills.

Much like many experience-based amusement in Japan, this attraction encourages visitors to actively immerse themselves in the world of horror.

If you are a horror fan, this is a spot-on opportunity. Even if you are not, you can still take some time away from the heat.

Let’s cool down with some Okinawan chills.
