In Okinawa, the temperatures in April can get so hot you might think it’s already summer. Head to Okuma Beach to celebrate the return of the summer heat at its annual festival featuring live music, fun activities and more.
The Okuma Beach Festival kicks off the start of beach season April 20-21. The weekend fest runs noon to 10 p.m. each day and includes a live performance by Wayne Wonder. The Jamaican reggae star will bring hit songs like “No Letting Go” and “Bounce Along” starting at 6:45 p.m. April 21.
Other performers for the weekend include Japanese and Okinawan artists like Kariyushi 58 and HY, two star-pop/rock bands from Okinawa, and Takanori Nishikawa, a pop-rock star.
The festival will also have dance shows, laser shows, and a kiddie land to pump up the hot spring vibe in Okinawa.
Okuma Beach is a great spot to spend a relaxing time. The beach is a popular destination for snorkeling, diving, jet skiing, golfing, tennis, and go-karting.

(Driver’s License, my number card, passport, health insurance card with another photo ID can be accepted as an ID)
*Bags are subject to being checked upon entry.
*Restricted items include alcohol, weapons, pets, large ice chests/coolers, duffle bags/large bags, glass bottles, and fireworks.
*Personally owned vehicle entry is limited. Park your vehicle at the designated parking areas. It is prohibited to park in unauthorized/residential areas off base.
