As Golden Week, a series of national holidays similar to spring break, kicks off on mainland Japan and Okinawa, it’s time to enjoy the weather and some outdoor activities.
Bios on the Hill in Uruma is hosting special programs for the holiday week including discounts, water buffalo rides, relaxing hammocks and seasonal flowers.
From May 3 through May 6, kids can ride a water buffalo for 2,000 yen (about $13). If you’ve visited the park before you may be familiar with the usual tour of the park in a wagon pulled by these impressive giants. This experience, however, involves experiencing the tour while hitching a ride directly on the water buffalo. It’s a unique experience your kids will enjoy!
On May 5, the park is offering a 50% discount admission for kids in honor of Children’s Day. Take advantage to get out and enjoy Bios on the Hill and the discount also covers admission for the ship lake tour.
The park has hammocks set up for ultimate relaxation and visitors can also enjoy the seasonal cattleya and dendrobium orchids blooming now.
There are many activities to enjoy and this week will be a great time to head over to Bios on the Hill!
