Camp Foster, OKINAWA, Japan -- Since December 2020, AK Kogyo American Finance service has been committed to supporting the U.S. military community and making their time in Okinawa as easy as possible. Recently, Owner and President of AK Kogyo, Eugene Boudreault and Hawari Habrawi, General Manager of AK Kogyo American Finance Service, presented a generous bronze-sponsored level donation of ¥1,000,000 to J. Phil VanEtten, USO Okinawa Area Director.
“At AK Kogyo, we’ve had the pleasure to be part of the military community since 2020 and sought to ease the burden placed on service members when purchasing vehicles but wanted to do more. By donating to USO Okinawa again in 2024, we’ve been able to partner together and improve the well-being of America’s service members. The USO Okinawa team remains dedicated to improving the lives of United States service members along with their families and we wanted to be part of that mission,” said Boudreault. By sponsoring USO Okinawa, we can assist them in achieving their goals, support their mission, and enrich the lives of service members and their families during their time in Okinawa—and we are proud to do so.”
AK Kogyo provides auto and motorcycle financing for individual or dealership purchases in Okinawa or in mainland Japan. AK Kogyo can also assist customers searching specialized vehicles, such as a certain make, model, or style.
AK Kogyo’s contribution to USO Okinawa supports thoughtful and impactful programming that seeks to strengthen the well-being of people serving in America’s military and their families. Additionally, their generous donation allows USO Okinawa to provide outreach support to surrounding areas where a physical center is not present. Most recently, USO Okinawa is coordinating with military leadership to provide support the annual deployment and redeployment of over numerous service members as they await transportation. A portion of these service members are waiting to be reunited with their family and loved ones after an extended deployment period.
“AK Kogyo has been a proud sponsor of USO Okinawa for several years now,” said J. Phil VanEtten, USO Okinawa Area Director. “The USO cannot operate without sponsorships like that from AK Kogyo or donations from the giving citizens of our great nation. There is certainly a business side to operating the USO that fuels our center operations and innovative programming for our service members and their families here in Okinawa. The USO exists ‘for the people who serve’. We are proud to partner with Mr. Eugene Boudreault and his AK Kogyo staff.”
Without the support of a local national, obtaining a loan to pay for a motorcycle or vehicle is a challenging process for U.S. service members. However, AK Kogyo seeks to ease this burden and assist service members with purchasing vehicles. Service members can make these purchases and pay overtime from quality off base dealerships, a service that is not available without the services of AK Kogyo.
