Japanese college students, senior leaders of Marine Corps Air Station Futenma, and U.S. Marines with 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, pose for a group photo during the University of Tokyo’s visit to MCAS Futenma, Okinawa, Japan, Feb. 28, 2024. U.S. Forces Japan and MCAS Futenma organized a tour for college students majoring in law and politics. During the brief, the University of Tokyo students learned about MCAS Futenma’s geopolitical role in the Indo-Pacific region, received a windshield tour around the perimeter of the air station, and observed aircraft on the flightline such as the V-22 Osprey, AH-1 Cobra, and UH-1Y Venom.
