America Fest (America Fest)
America Fest is making its way back to Kadena Air Base on March 22-23.
Although it was a one-day event in 2024, this annual open house is going back to a two-day schedule. Roughly 70,000 guests came to the festival in 2023, the last time it was held for two days, according to base officials.
The festival will feature food booths, live music and other performances, static displays of aircraft and Kiddie Land. Presentations dedicated to search-and-rescue teams, flight simulation, tactical combat casualty care and forensics units are also expected.
One of last year’s big attractions, STEM Hangar, will be back. Hosted by units on Kadena, STEM Hangar gives visitors, especially young ones, hands-on experiences focusing on science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
It can be quite loud around the venue, and the Air Force base is encouraging visitors to bring hearing protection to the event.
