Okinawa, Japan – USO Okinawa proudly announces that RTX will participate in a community beach cleanup on July 8, 2023, and sponsor a Military Appreciation Barbeque event on July 11, 2023.

The Military Appreciation Barbeque is an opportunity to express gratitude and appreciation for the brave men and women who serve our country.

RTX team members will also participate alongside our military community in a community beach cleanup before the barbeque event on July 8. This beach cleanup is a wonderful chance to work together to preserve Okinawa’s beauty and promote environmental sustainability.

USO Okinawa Area Director J. Phil VanEtten shared, “We are grateful to partner with RTX to host this barbecue for our incredible military and their families. And we are excited also to help the local Okinawa community through a beach cleanup.”

As the world’s largest aerospace and defense company, RTX is committed to supporting military personnel and their families. The upcoming events provide a platform for RTX to give back to the community by showing their appreciation for the sacrifices made by the military.

“Our partnership with USO Kadena furthers our commitment to our service members during a complex, multinational experiment,” said Conn Doherty, Vice President at Collins Aerospace, an RTX business. “As a responsible corporate citizen, we’re advancing our shared priorities of supporting service members and sustainability by serving the local community at Kadena Air Base and the broader Okinawa Prefecture.”

USO Okinawa Beach Cleanup will occur on Saturday, July 8, from 7:30-9 AM at Kin Beach, followed by the Military Appreciation Barbeque on Tuesday, July 11, from 11 AM to 1 PM at Kenney Park on Kadena Air Base. All military members and their families are invited to attend both events.
